Tough groups ahead for our adult teams

posted 26 Feb 2015, 13:20 by Garret Byrne
The Groups for this years Adult Hurling Championships were made last Monday with Kinvara 3 adult sides having nothing easy in the outcomes.

Our Intermediates are playing at this grade for the first time since 1977, and will have their work cut out to qualify for the quarter-finals. Included in our group are the 3 remaining sides who made the semi-finals last year - Ahascragh-Fohenagh, Abbeyknockmoy and Moycullen. The fourth side Cappataggle won out and are now senior. Ahascragh-Fohenagh only lost the final last year after a replay. Aswell as those 3 sides, there is strong teams also in Killimor, Craughwell and Clarinbridge, and these three oppositions will be strongly eyeing the knockout stages and more.

Our Junior B's again have a tough group, and regardless of again trying to make the final (lost decider last year to Clarinbridge), the initial challenge will be to get out of the group. Will not be easy at all.

Our Junior C finished one place from the quarter-finals last year, and although we lifted the Shield title, there is no doubt that it is the championship title that these lads want to lift. With again 10 teams in the group, and only 4 to qualify, it means again a long hard campaign for Tommie Hanlon's men.
