Senior Championship Draws made

Well the draw has been made in the 2013 Salthill Hotel Galway Hurling Championship, and Kinvara have been drawn to play rivals Portumna in Round 1. The former kings of Galway club hurling have always gotten the better of us in recent times, including the 2007 County Final, but there is no doubt the Kinvara lads will be up for this tie and ready to cause an upset.

The Full draw for 2013 is as follows:

Preliminary Round:
Liam Mellows v Loughrea

Round 1
1. St. Thomas v Ardrahan
2. Clarinbridge v Tommie Larkins
3. Gort v Athenry
4. Mullagh v Beagh
5. Carnmore v Turloughmore
6. Preliminary Round winners v Craughwell
7. Kinvara v Portumna
8. Kiltormer v Tynagh-Abbey-Duniry
9. Moycullen v Padraig Pearses
10. Castlegar v Sarsfields

Killimordaly have bye to group stages.

Remember format goes like this:
- 10 winners of Round 1 head to Championship group stages (and no relegation worries!)
- 10 losers of Round 1 plus Preliminary Round loser go into draw for Round 2. There will first be a Prelimianry Round 2 match, with follows 5 matches. 
- 5 winners of Round 2 matches head to Championship group stages (and no relegation worries!)
- 1 winner of 2012 Intermediate Final - Killimordaly get bye to Championship group stages (and no relegation worries)
- Championship Groups now has 16 teams, to make 4 groups of 4 sides.
- All other 6 sides head to relegation group (and a lot of relegation worries!!!)
