Hard luck to our young footballers

Kinvara U9s footballers performed admirably in Moycullen last Saturday in the Galway Community Games Blitz Finals. Although the lads did not feature on the medals podium, they, however, did not let the club down.

In the first game they were up against a very strong Clarinbridge side. Although our lads did very well to score 2-4, it was not enough as Clarinbridge had already scored 6 goals, and the strong wind made it very difficult for the Kinvara boys to stage a full recovery.

In the second of their matches they played out a thriller with north Galway side Corofin. Kinvara were an even match for these kingpins of Galway football, and both sides played out a great drawn match.

Overall, the lads did very well, and showed no shortage of the skills, with some great blocking and tackling being done.

The panel was:
Eli Sheedy, Darragh Mongan, Max Bennett, Harry Mulleady, Rory Connors, Conor O'Dwyer, Tadhg Heavey, Ultan Fallon, Cillian O'Driscoll, Daniel Malone, Emer Bergin, Gareth Kilkelly, Aodhan O'Hanrahan, Cathal Fordham, Connor Kilkelly, Cian Pyne, Sam Heanen, Joe Meares, Oisin Ivers.
